Their are legitimately intelligent people that I know who supported Ron Paul in 2008 and are again supporting him in 2012. Although their beliefs are flawed, they can present a coherent argument in favor of Paul's candidacy. I know of one person on this forum (MBD) who can do this as well.

I care about him as well. Though I wouldn't support him and he has no chance at gaining the nomination, it will be fun to see how he does next year compared to 2008, especially with Johnson thrown into the mix as well.

People with any interest in politics, presumably. I mean, he is generally polling in fifth place and the huge moneybombs and grassroots campaigns haven't even started yet.

Ron Paul supporters tend to be overweight teenagers and early-twenties types.

I honestly don't get the appeal - like, at all.

I know quite a few 19-24 year old Ron Paul supporters.  I know a "kid" in his early twenties who campaigned for Paul 2008.  Even has a song for it he wrote..

Sure, there are the keyboard libertarians (anti social young men). But he also has a loyal following of paleocons, conspiracy theorists, anti-Fed people and white nationalist/racists. I don't know why the latter group seems to like him so much, since I've never heard anything overtly racist from him. But he does have the states' rights thing going on pretty strong.

There's a certain kind of charisma in having no charisma and being blunt. Also the antiwar stance won him support in the Bush days. Back when the Right managed to recruit a lot of disaffected young social liberals.

My one friend at work. He's the only person I know of IRL that does. He loves the guy though.

See if I asked who cares about Obama, and then put my poll question as "Idiotic, uneducated youth, selfish black people, and socialist" you all would freak out.
