I wouldn't get a Pokemon tattoo, but I've seen plenty of odd tattoos and don't think it would make you a social pariah like many seem to suggest. Ditto would be a bad choice though- a pink blob wouldn't really make a good tattoo IMO. I suggest something like Gengar or Charizard if you're serious about it.

I don't get it. You should be too old to be nostalgic for Pokemon. I'm even too old.

There are people even older than me at work that still like Pokemon. This one lady who is 30 just had a baby and the picture of him she has at her cubicle is him in his crib with a Pokemon blanket and instead of stuffed animals he has stuffed Pokemon around him.

Why are you only considering Gen I ones?

Those are mostly the best.

I wouldn't, but then again what to get is entirely personal.........I love mine, but I wouldn't dream of something like that.

I've never understood why people get tattoos of pop culture things. I prefer more abstract tattoo designs, since they're less likely to be regrettable in five years.

That reminds me of this girl in a Christian hardcore band I saw in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She had tattoos up her arm of the logos from the band's two albums, which were more abstract things not easily recognizable as from her band. But later I realized how odd it'd be if her grandkids asked her what her tattoos were and she explained it was from some band she was in 40 years ago considering they have already broke up. And if her grandkids then heard her band would they think she was cool or would it look like Frank Sinatra compared to what her kids were listening to?

They are the real Pokemon. The others are just cheap knock-offs.

I'd never get a tattoo, I love Pokemon but there's no way I'd ever get one even if I wanted to get a tattoo.

Even after all those years I still can't understand why some people are getting orgasmic over such a pathetic thing as Pokemons.

Yes, let the hate flow through you. Use it, it makes you powerful. Roll Eyes

You're the one that's getting all orgasmic over it through the hate.

While I don't like Pokemons nor never understood the whole Pokemon fever, I was more referring to such people, who would go that far in being orgasmic over some stuff to get a tattoo, rather than "normal" (let's say) fans.

I knew over a decade ago, that this garbage would come to nothing good.

A tattoo of that crap? Ridiculous, though that would apply to any tattoo. Tongue

Kal, you clearly fail to understand the premise of "deliberate irony". Many hardcore kids and hipster types love Pokemon today even those who are too old to have played back in the day because it's one of those "ironic" things. There are basically two age brackets of Pokemon fans:
under 12
from 21 to middle aged.

Also there is no such thing as "Pokemons"

You could have it on your scrotum.  That way you could just let it get covered up naturally by not shaving.  Then when you meet that special someone, and you finally get to the all-important let's-shave-each-other phase of your relationship, you can let her discover it by surprise.  Just be sure not to ply her with too much alcohol before she gets started.

Hush, the games are so addicting. Smiley

let's-shave-each-other phase of your relationship

Oh, there's a such phase? My boyfriend despises shaving, so getting him to actually do it is a huge hassle and even after five years together, asking me to do it is potential break up territory.

I'm not at all interested but the negativity in this thread is amusing considering how weird our interests are. Most people would look at our Congressional maps and just laugh. Then again, you could get a tattoo of Torie's PA-14. That could be cool.

I never cared much for it either.  My post was sort of a joke.  I was conjuring up images of Pokemon growing a beard.  And then you could trim his beard in all sorts of ways.  I did have a girlfriend that always wanted to shave me.  Not just there, but my legs, my chest, etc.  Not my eyebrows, though.  So one day, after a sufficient amount of booze, weed, and whatever else she had in her apartment, I let her.  She was remarkably efficient and safe.  Not a drop of blood.  But I never really cared for the razor stubble.  That was the first, last, and only time I ever went in for a body shaving.

I did know a guy named Carey, or Kerry, who had a large bald eagle tattooed across his back, but he was so hairy that he had to shave regularly in order to show off the tattoo.  And a fine tattoo it was.

Perhaps I'm willfully missing the point.  Anyway, perhaps I didn't do a good job getting rid of my Jewish background, but I'd never ever get a tattoo.
