CONCORD, N.H.—A poll of New Hampshire voters shows President Barack Obama beating nearly all of the potential Republican candidates, with two exceptions: Mitt Romney and someone who isn't even considering a run.

The poll conducted by Dartmouth's Nelson A. Rockefeller Center shows Romney slightly ahead of Obama. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell was added to the mix to test the perceived absence of leadership qualities among the candidates, and voters preferred him to Obama by a wide margin.

In matchups with other Republicans, Obama was well ahead of Sarah Palin, Haley Barbour, Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty and Donald Trump and slightly ahead of Mike Huckabee.

The telephone poll of 426 registered voters was conducted April 11-14 and had a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.

Cheesy

I'd really love to see Powell run either as a Republican or Independent. He'd be a true Ross Perrot type (politically) that could win. Republicans blame Perrot for their lost, but he still did have a huge chunk of dems/liberals in his base. Powell could defiinitely have an electoral sweep

At age 75?  He'd be even older than Bob Dole was in '96.

Powell isn't even on the radar and won't be, so that's nothing to be excited about, I think it's a bit inflated anyway. I don't think Romney would do that well either. Nothing to see here, the results are way too lopsided to look like anything that would come out of New Hampshire.

Buddy Roemer has a better chance of winning the nomination than Colin Powell.

I have difficulty believing that there is such a wide spread between Romney & Huckabee, even in a state like New Hampshire. Obama does seem to be in trouble, though.

Powell also endorsed Obama in 2008, so that would be a fun primary campaign for him.

Tender, I don't think this poll has much credibility... I'd wait for more "Rockefeller centre" polls before assuming NH is a Romney state.

After all, we really shouldn't trust anything that has "Nelson Rockefeller" right there in the name.

All polling should be taken with a grain of salt, anyway.

It's because this is a joke poll. Notice who's running it.
