Has anyone heard the story of someone who said "It is more likely that a tree will gro out of my dust than that Jesus will come back" or something like that, and eventually a tree indeed grew out of her dust?

Well, was it just a folktale brainwashing technique or a true story?

I've never heard that story, and can't say whether or not it actually happened. However, I'd agree that's more likely - the fact that we all die, decompose, and become nutrients in the soil is an undisputed fact. That some plant may eventually use those nutrients is actually quite likely. Also, it's entirely plausible that this person could have had a tree planted over her grave to fulfill this to prove the point.
