KEmperor quiting the forum was significant in my view - kinda like if we lost angus - I related well to his kind of humor.

checked KEmperor's profile and he signed in recently (late last month), so I sent him a PM.

Any reply?  I'm guessing not from the way you worded your post.

Didn't you kill yourself off at one point?  Maybe five years ago.  Am I remembering this right?  I was afraid that you had used the Delete All Posts feature, back when that existed, and was quite shocked.  But then mysteriously reappeared apparently unharmed, except for a newfound love of trains.

That's strange, sir. I don't have any recollection of that at all.

Very well, sir.  Just remember to change your jacket before the fish and goose soiree.

Will do, Mr. Grady.

I see you're still in your iconic American movie phase.  Good choice.

The revelation which caused the Update thread to be shut down (for now)..........

(perhaps the porn posts could have been deleted instead of shutting the whole thing down?)

There really, really needs to be a cooling off period.  The last thing we need is a discussion of Bush OK's pornography addiction.  Literally, the last thing we need.

when you open the thread back up, advise BushOK to have someone install Safe Eyes on every computer of his and not tell him the password.   problem solved.

Better yet, randomly hit the keyboard with your eyes closed and copy-paste the confirmation.

no, you don't want to do that because the software's permissions are kept on SafeEye's (the gatekeeper)website, that way if a user says SafeEye's is blocking a legit/safe site, the "keymaster" (whoever holds the password, in our house it is my wife) can sign onto SafeEye's website and allow permission for that site .  .

Turning to fascism to solve your problems is very Catholic of you, jmfcst.  At least Bushie continues his personal struggle of guilt and shame with Jesus Christ alone without the help of the mortal whips and chains.

Porn is awesome... and nothing said in the BushOklahoma thread was even graphic.

It's starting to look like opebo was right about the new order on this forum.

Open that thing back up.

You're like an adorable little boy!  You can't make decisions for yourself and must depend on 'mommy' to take care of your wantons.  Very cute!

The point about porn is that normal people - people who have healthy sex lives, like me - hardly need it.  I watch it a bit sometimes, but now that I have discovered prostitution, porn holds only a very little charm.

It's starting to look like opebo was right about the new order on this forum.

Always a safe statement, wise Erasure.

---

There is nothing noble and nothing to gain in fighting and losing a fight that isn’t necessary.  It’s called “fleeing from temptation.” God has provided a way out of this temptation and I have made the choice to take the opportunity to flee.  And my wife is not my babysitter, rather I came to her at the very beginning of our marriage and asked her to secure the internet for me.  She never has to touch the settings as it is set to allow everything but porn and never has to be touched. We used to have separate accounts for our kids with different levels of settings (no violence, cursing, gambling, etc), but it became a pain and we decided to use a single account with a constant setting.

So, I am not being a coward, rather I am guarding what Christ has invested in me so that I can share in the resurrection of Christ when the time comes.

1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.

Ephesians 4:27
do not give the devil a foothold.

The other computer security setting in our house is that I am the only one who can install software on the computers that are members of our home network (though the kids can install software on their laptops since those are not members of our network).  This is to secure our network from downloaded viruses (e.g. if my son downloads a game) so that I can be sure my online banking is secure.  There are no exceptions to this rule – if my wife calls and says the kids need to install some software, I simply tell her to have them install it on their laptops, else they have to wait until I get home. No exemptions, Period.

Though I do keep the admin password in a sealed envelope in our safe in case something happens to me.  But there is no copy of the SafeEyes password that I am aware of, if something happened to my wife, I would have to reformat the hard drive and reinstall the operating system in order to remove SafeEyes
