And I am referring to U.S. presidential elections.  I think I read somewhere that your political allegiances are set once you have voted for one party in your first three consecutive presidential elections.

To answer this poll question, I have not.  I voted Bush/Cheney in 2000, though I have voted for Democrats in every presidential election since then.

I've only voted in one election (Obama in 08), but I will be voting against him in 2012, that's for sure. So, no.

I'm only old enough to have voted in one of them (McSame, not Black Bush). Needless to say I'm not making that sort of mistake again.

I've also only voted in one, 2008, in which I wrote in Ron Paul.  Good chance I'll be doing the same in '12 and '16.

I have not voted since I think 1992.  Can't remember.

yes.  I voted for Dukakis in 1988, Clinton in 1992, and Clinton in 2996.  Since then I voted for Nader, Bush, and Obama, so it's been a while since I had three in a row.

Seems like this thread should be placed in the Individual Politics section.

No, and I've voted in every election since 1984 (1980 if you count the mock election in high school where I voted for Anderson).  In fact I haven't even ever voted for the same party twice in a row in presidential elections.

Considering that I was eligible to vote in one so far (2010), and my candidate didn't make into second round. No.

To anecdotally disprove that theory; my father's voting record:

1972: McGovern
1976: Carter
1980: Carter
1984: Reagan
1988: Bush
1992: Bush
1996: Dole
2000: Bush
2004: Kerry
2008: Obama
2012: Almost certainly the Republican

Worth noting that his views have pretty much stayed relatively constant that whole time.

oops.

I'm typing and mousing left-handed today.  I rolled over my wine glass last evening after I'd fallen asleep.  Apparently I crushed the glass with my right hand, but the glass definitely got even with me.

No, I was unable to vote in 2000 due to a technicality. I will have the 3 consecutive election thingy after 2012

I normally stop drinking before I retire, but yesterday we planted a bunch of stuff in the back yard.  Tomatoes, chiles, flowers, shrubs.  Lots of digging.  It was unseasonably warm and I was getting in touch with my inner Hank Hill.  I guess I was just tired yesterday so I retired early.  Still thirsty.  So I took my drink to bed with me.  Must have fallen asleep with a glass in one hand.  It's okay.  Just a cut on my right index finger.  It goes to the bone apparently.  Good thing that bone was there!  At some point I dreamt that my son was measuring my finger with a ruler and pressing it down on my finger harder and harder.  In my dream I was about to smack him for that.  Then I woke up and it felt sticky, and in the dark I recognized immediately the metallic smell of freshly let blood from a carnivorous mammal.  Long story short, I just took some hydrocodone pills leftover from a previous prescription, bandaged it myself, and changed the sheets.  By the time my wife came upstairs I guess I was asleep again.

Anyway, it's alright.  I cycled in to work today.  I bandaged my finger enough so it won't bend.  Keeps it pointed straight out so it doesn't hurt.  I'll be fine after a couple of days.

Angus' story reminds me of what happened to my niece once upon a time, tho the only similarity is that glass was involved.  She was a young girl at the time (late 70's, maybe early 80's) and took a bite out of a McDonaldland glass (Hamburglar if I remember correctly).  No cuts, no injury, just a single bite shaped piece of glass we got her to spit out before she came to any harm.  For some reason, that was the last time our family used those glasses.

My mom told me that when I was a toddler, I flushed a bunch of McDonald's happy meal toys down the toilet after I got mad at her for taking my Elmo Saves Christmas video away. We needed a plumber to come out XDD

Voted (R) yes since I have havent bothered to change my registration.  I currently have a streak of 4 in a row, but this will very likely change in 2012.

2004: John Kerry
2008: Barack Obama

So as of 2012, the answer will be yes.

I voted Dole in 96. (I just turned 18.) 2000, 2004, and 2008 I voted CP. If the republicans nominate a piece of crap in 2012, I'll vote CP again.

I would have voted for Bush in 2000 (underage).
2004 - Badnarik
2008 - McCain
2012 - either Obama, leftist 3rd party or if I swing back to the right I can write in Bachmann,

And since someone else included it, my father's voting history afaik.

1964: LBJ - apparently the daisy girl commercial was effective
1968: Nixon (80% certain about that)
1972: Nixon
1976: Carter
1980: Regan
1984: Regan
1988: Bush
1992: Bush
1996: Dole
2000: Bush
2004: Bush
2008: McCain
2012: I think he might actually vote for Obama, I'm kind of shocked, but he always was a Rockefeller Republican.

How I would have voted (since 1960):

1960 - John F. Kennedy (D)
1964 - Barry Goldwater (R)
1968 - Hubert H. Humphrey (D)
1972 - John Hospers (L)
1976 - Roger MacBride (L)
1980 - Ronald Reagan (R)
1984 - Ronald Reagan (R)
1988 - Ron Paul (L)
1992 - Ross Perot (I)
1996 - Ross Perot (Reform)
2000 - George W. Bush (R)
2004 - Michael Badnarik (L)
2008 - John McCain (R)
2012 - If I could vote, I'd most likely vote Republican, Libertarian (Unless Wayne Allyn Root is the nominee) or Constitution Party.
