Its odd how churches are segregated.
Are the mega churches like Warren or Osteen also segregated?

osteen no, warren yes.

I believe Osteen's church is located in Al Green's district which is very diverse.

Warren's church is in the more wealthy part of Orange County in the Lake Forest/Mission Viejo area. Warren built it there on purpose as he said in an interview that during the late 1970s, he was researching census information and found that that part of the county was growing the fastest and he said he wanted to build a church in a fast growing area where people needed a sense of community.

There is no institution in America more segregated than our churches. "Values" is a code word for GOP voter. Therefore no blacks.

You will find a number of black churches (and other religious institutions) very socially conservative.  One difference is that social conservativism is not the major issue with African Americans that it is with some Caucasians.

I thought the failure of gay marriage in Maryland was interesting. The black churches came out against it in PG County and doomed it, but this apparently didn't happen in Baltimore?

As more blacks enter the middle class, is there any likelihood that the so-called Prosperity Gospel will begin to carry more resonance within the black community, to the point by which abortion and gay marriage will matter more to them than issues relating to the economy?

And yet they will never drop the v-word. It's a code word for evangelical GOP voters. They don't have much in common with so called "conservative" blacks except opposition to the gays and such. They come from completely different worlds with distinct experiences. It's not like blacks are rooting for tax cuts for richers.

Of course they do. Blacks vote mostly heavily in favor of gay marriage bans.

I didn't realize that allowing gay marriage would have an effect of raising the taxes on the richest. It would be a novel effect, definitely worth exploring. Would you mind elaborating?
