Bush can draw a seventh little cabinet member on the side of his plane...

One more, and he breaks Clinton's record.

So what does Ridge do now?  Go back into the private sector?  Start campaigning for his old job?

Start campaigning for his old job?

Most Republicans running or considering a run for Governor here in PA would decide abandon their campaigns and Ridge would easily win the primary. He would be the best competition for Rendell in the General election. As great as this sounds, it probably won't happen.

All Cabinet people resign.  It's up to the President to accept their resignations.

In any case, I expected Ridge to resign.  He can make a load of money in the private sector as an expert consultant in the field of national security.

Lowering the threat level so that you can raise it again makes you an expert?

Oh ye of little importance (hehehe), he does more than changes the threat level of the nation.  He has a lot of knowledge regarding the national security infrastructure and policies; more than most.  That is very marketable in the current environment.

No, lowering it based on intelligence, and raising it likewise does.  There is a heck of lot that Ridge could do, ranging from becomming a lobbyist to opening a law practice, to consulting, to managing a company.
