Given that his defence team's arguments verged on being actively stupid, not a surprise. Maybe they'll have thought up of something plausible for the appeal?

There won't be any 'fair trial' - its all orchestrated by the CIA, and he'll end up tortured.  But he knew that going into his freedom fight.

So Peebs, how many poors would die if funding for the CIA were cut?  Should any CIA torturers be laid off?  Should there be a CIA torturers' union?

Yeah, but even with the best solicitors in town this was a done deal from the get-go, no?

Well, at least this probably means more details about that case will get out in the open. If Sweden does decide to make their transatlantic friends happy, I can only hope that there are unpublished Wiki documents describing Reinfeldt killing babies or something.

He doesn't have a leg to stand on over extradition, so, yeah.

Agreed......the agreements between the countries made it nearly impossible to say no.

Is it Swedish custom to presume someone is guilty until proven innocent, Gustaf?  Because I'm sensing a theme here.

My remark was tounge-in-cheek. On here, he would probably be more popular if proven guilty. Showing those damn women their rightful place in society and all that.

But regardless of whether he is found guilty or not it's pretty clear that he's a misogynistic asshole.

Gustaf has two problems, Graumps - he hates me, and he believes women.

And you wonder why the only people on this forum who like you are your braindead little cult.

Yet another depressing Opebo-Gustaf "debate"...

He is accused of a crime. It's therefore normal that he is extraded in the country where he is accused of that crime in order to be tried. If he is innocent, he will hopeffully be acquitted, and otherwise he will pay for his crime as any other person.

But surely it behooves us, as students of international affairs, to note that the reason he is being pursued may be that the hegemon wants him in its clutches.
