If the Republican candidates for President next year were Mitch Daniels, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty, Mitt Romney, and John Thune who would you vote for?

Mitt Romney.................................................... 22%
Newt Gingrich ................................................. 18%
Sarah Palin ..................................................... 16%
Mike Huckabee ............................................... 15%
Ron Paul......................................................... 10%
Tim Pawlenty .................................................. 3%
Mitch Daniels .................................................. 2%
John Thune..................................................... 1%
Someone else/Undecided............................... 12%

So Romney could win primaries on the west coast, but is he polling well on the East Coast? It seems to have slipped my mind.

Romney leads in New Hampshire and is apparently tied in New Jersey and North Carolina from what I read. I havent seen any other polls out in the east besides Georgia and South Carolina, and Huckabee leads there.

Things still look incredibly unsettled to me here.

Romney polled better than this in the west coast in 2008, but it didn't translate.  The fact is he needs to get momentum in New Hampshire if he's going to actually win any of these states.

Gingrich a strong second place? That's unexpected....

All his polling in California has been high, I'm not sure why. But it is a huge benefit

I sort of imagine CA Republicans being the kind of group likely to remember Gingrich fondly. I'm picturing lots of wealthy old suburbanites. This isn't really based off of anything though.
