Newt Gingrich ................................................. 18%
Mike Huckabee ............................................... 14%
Ron Paul......................................................... 7%

Mitch Daniels .................................................. 1%

Romney seems to do well in more liberal states. Hmm...

Its more to it in this state then that.

1. Mormonism
2. 2008, Romney paid attention to the state, no one else did
3. Romney may or may not have something in the suburban areas of the west that may or may not translate to some kind of advantage in these Obama states. Only one way to find out though. Tongue

Nevada, a "liberal state". Why, because it didn't vote for Angle? Its still hardly a "liberal" state. Roll Eyes

Call it "reddish-purple". Tongue It's now replaced NM as a lean Dem state in the Rockies running a point or two more Democratic than nationally.

Just because a state votes for Democrat's doesn't mean the Republican Party there is liberal. Take Delaware, for example.

Ah, and since when is identity politics not allowed. I don't even recall Romney running as "the mormon candidate", unlike a certain someone who ran as "the baptist minister", that would would have been self-destructive for him.

I will also point out that Romney does best in Nevada and Arizona in the general election matchups which indicates a base of Western support beyond that of mormons, and encompassing the suburban strength as well.

He's a mormon. That's pretty much the only relevant thing here.
