There's some Cabinet people down here and it's nicely balanced between the two parties.

Constituency MP Name Party Prediction
Barnsley Central  Eric Illsley  LAB Hold
Barnsley East and Mexborough  Jeff Ennis  LAB Hold
Barnsley West and Penistone  Michael Clapham  LAB Hold
Beverley and Holderness  James Cran  CON Hold
Boston and Skegness  Mark Simmonds  CON Hold
Brigg and Goole  Ian Cawsey  LAB Hold: It's a dock town, he's safe.
Cleethorpes  Shona McIsaac  LAB Hold
Doncaster Central  Rosie Winterton  LAB Hold
Doncaster North  Kevin Hughes  LAB Hold
Don Valley  Caroline Flint  LAB Hold
Gainsborough  Edward Leigh  CON Hold
Grantham and Stamford  Quentin Davies  CON Hold
Great Grimsby  Austin Mitchell  LAB Hold
Haltemprice and Howden  David Davis  CON Hold
Hull East  John Prescott  LAB Hold: He can't lose.
Hull North  Kevin McNamara  LAB Hold
Hull West and Hessle  Alan Johnson  LAB Hold
Lincoln  Gillian Merron  LAB Hold
Louth and Horncastle  Peter Tapsell  CON Hold
Rother Valley  Kevin Barron  LAB Hold
Rotherham  Denis MacShane  LAB Hold
Sc**nthorpe  Elliot Morley  LAB Hold
Sheffield Attercliffe  Clive Betts  LAB Hold
Sheffield Brightside  David Blunkett  LAB Hold: The resignation will affect him seriously, but he won't lose. This seat will stay LAB even if he stepped down The civil liberties crew might go LD, but he's going to clear 50% easily. The BNP leader is running here (depending on the racial hatred investigation- he denies the charges) and will probably save his deposit.
Sheffield Central  Richard Caborn  LAB Hold
Sheffield Hallam  LIB Hold: The other blogger (Allan) is stepping down, but this is a safe seat.
Sheffield Heeley  Meg Munn  LAB Hold
Sheffield Hillsborough  Helen Jackson  LAB Hold
Sleaford and North Hykeham  Douglas Hogg  CON Hold
South Holland and The Deepings  John Hayes  CON Hold
Wentworth  John Healey  LAB Hold
Yorkshire East  Greg Knight  CON Hold

Agree with this.
Brigg and Goole isn't safe for Labour though, it'll be tough.
Goole is cast-iron Labour (and herroin capital of the UK!!), however Brigg is a snobby little market town and the rural bits are full of farmers and countryside alliance types.
The rural bits will outvote Goole in an even year.

Sheffield Hallam  Richard Allan  LIB Hold: The other blogger, he's a cert for re-election.

Allan's being replaced by Nick Clegg, a euro-sceptic LibDem and a very gifted one at that and he'll hold it easily, strange that this was once a rock solid Tory Seat as all the manufacturers in the city lived in the area.

Hallam is extremely middle class. I believe it has the highest number of professionals in the UK.
This is certainly no guarantee of Tory fortunes any more however, especially in urban areas. This group now have a tendancy to vote LD en masse.

Anyone who strongly opposes some of the policies he implemented. It'll be small and insignificant though.

Why in the world is Nick Griffin (presuming he somehow manages to get off for what would be an open-and-shut case of incitement for a normal thug) standing in Sheffield?

Who knows? Perhaps he doesn't like the former Home Secretary.
