Nice article.

This is one of the big reasons I honestly believe Mitch Daniels has a chance.  The party is in turmoil; "heir apparents" won't be shoo-ins in 2012.

Something else many probably don't know about him which will look good in the GE is that he's pushing for a very bi-partisan session, and is letting Democrats into leadership positions.

Helps in the general, hurts in the primary. And that's major considering he was veeery big about getting a republican majority for his "pro-taxpayer" majority

Mitch Daniels has been a disaster for Indiana.  The economy has been in complete shambles under his leadership and will continue to be in shambles in the same way New Jersey will continue to be in shambles under Christie.

If you want to believe 10% unemployment is good news is indicative of a booming economy, more power to you.

I'm hoping for this unemployment to get in the 14-16% range, so anything Daniels can do to increase it, I'm for it.

As for Hamilton, I've made it pretty clear that I'm in favor of Huntsman running for President.

Did I ever say that?  This is simply a localized version of the United State's economy.  Daniels has even less control over Indiana's economy then Obama does over the United States because he is subject to Federal mandates.

And I sure hope you are joking with that second sentence.

That's kind of crazy, even for a fanatic Daniels fan.

He's the antithesis of a Daniels fan; he wants the Indiana governor out so that his dream girl can cost to victory.

Are you kidding me Imperial,  I want Daniels in the race.

It's clear to me that the people who would vote for Daniels don't actually care about his actual performance in office.  So the fact that unemployment will be very high in Indiana is irrelevant to whether people will be voting for Daniels.

I want Daniels, Huntsman, or Pawlenty at 20%.

And yes, I want 14-16% unemployment.  The higher the unemployment rate, the easier it will be for Republicans to win.

But you see...even with a Democrat in office, I feel the economy improving is a good thing.

It appears you didn't read the article you posted.

As to wanting 14-16% unemployment, I'd say that qualifies you for the Sick Bastard Award of the year.

I haven't bought into this preordained theory anyway. 2008 was too wide open anyway to think that there was a next in line (kind of like 1996).

I'll admit to having wanted that in the past, but that doesn't mean I think I'm a good person because of it. If you proudly think that, then you're a horrible person.

Improving the lives and ending the suffering of those around you is far more important then winning an election. Wanting to make things worse is morally reprehensible.

Yeah, you're a horrible person.

A CNN survey showed 61% of Republicans hoping Obama's policies fail vs. 27% hoping they succeed.  The numbers were reversed for the country at large.
