I didn't make a poll because I'd just prefer written opinions, but what do you guys think of him?

Well, he blamed the financial crises in Russia on America, and performed a bailout, despite promises he has yet to stop the monopoly of United Russia, and he supports that regional offices will be appointed by the Kremlin instead of the local citizens.

However, he has stated support for civil service reform, privitization of Russia's state-run corporations, and is trying to make Russia less confrontational in world politics.

Overall, I lean towards the negative. There haven't been enough results, and its hard to see him with the shadow of Putin being ever-present.

Mediocre President. He could do worse, yet he could improve in many areas as well.

I don't find any G8 leaders irrelevant. Nor the Presidents of any nations who have a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.

That may be the case, but that would make you wrong.

I don't think you very much understand Russian politics and institutions.

Seems he wants, and kinda tries, to be an improvement compared to his predecessor. Waiting to see what he will decide for the next 2 elections.

Useless pawn. There's no need to have an opinion of him if you have one of Putin.

Improvement over Putin. Sadly, he's also less powerful than Putin.

(I usually don't agree with assessments that see Medvedev as a mere Putin puppet. Their relationship is a bit more complex than that. Medvedev holds some political influcence, it's just not enough.)

I see his role more as "On-the-job-training" and "successor grooming" more than "puppet."

I like him quite a bit. Read his Wikipedia entry; he seems a little eccentric, and he always has that funny little grin on his funny over-sized head. He's also a pretty dapper dresser, something I admire in world leaders. He's like "Putinism with a human face".
