I know it is only a few days before the election, but I figured better late than never - I would like to open a campaign thread.

Although I am a conservative, and will make no attempts to hide that, I have established a record of working with members of the other side of the aisle - having managed to get three pieces of legislation passed in my previous tenure. I also worked with President Purple State at the Constitutional Convention and am currently serving on President Fritz's task force for new member recruitment.

In the recent weeks, there have been talks about activity. First with Bacon King, when had been absent for quite some time, and later with Libertas, when he had missed several votes. I pledge (and have proven in the past) that, while I may not have a comment or amendment on every piece of legislation, I will remain active. There are also several ideas for legislation that I have been considering, and look forward to working on with the other nine members of the Senate.

Several of you are already aware of my previous record as Senator - it is one that I will not only live up to, but improve upon, if I am given the consent by the voters to make a return.

As I said before, despite our political differences, you were a great addition in the Senate and, thus, you'll have a high preference from me Smiley

You should probably rank us 1 and 2 if you want us out of the NE assembly. Tongue

DF:

As you served in the Senate previously, could you please list the 5 accomplishments you are most proud of in your time there? Thanks! Smiley

Certainly.

1. One of my biggest accomplishments would definetly be the Sublimation Act. This Act provides (on the condition they include it in their by-laws) a mechanism for which de-facto parties may dissolve - and leave officially rather than languish on the voter rolls for months.

2. Trying to provide good questions to cabinet appointees was definetly another thing I tried to do as Senator. Cabinet hearings are very dull, and even if I already had planned on voting for the nominee, I like to atleast make for an active hearing.

3. The Safe Scallops & Clean Clams Act, along with the Equality in Healthcare Act, were two other things I was proud to have authored and gotten passed.

4. Though this ultimately failed in it's original incarnation (due to a veto) I thought of funding the Hiring Incentives Act via surplus funds from the Break The Chains Act.

5. A Resolution concerning the Regional Governments Childboard, which has spurred Regional Awareness, along with restoring use to a previously obsolute childboard, is something that I am very proud to have voted for.

I have been a bit lagging in doing this - computer problems, as well as other affairs have kept me preoccupied. I shall make this brief.

It looks like I have won the At-large election. There were many good candidates, and with only five seats, it was unavoidable that some would lose. I publicly congratulate my fellow Senators-Elect. I would also like to thank to everybody who placed me on their ballot, and I promise I shall do my best to live up to expectations. However, owing to the earliness of this election, it will be some time before I swear in.

Regardless, I would like to thank everybody once more - without your votes, I could not have done this.

So, without further ado...
