I'm in the Northeast.  Tongue  It's Mike Stack

Yeah, I mean House Minority Leader........Long day.........congrats to Phil for that too Wink

Yeah, I was confused by that. I figured you meant her (especially since you said witch) but then I remembered the State Senate Dems were having their leadership election and Costa from out west won. I figured you must really dislike him to call him a witch.  Tongue

Well, it's better than crack (see Bill Stewart, 41st Senatorial District).

I'm about to leave for DC for the day. I'm going to Santorum's event at American University tonight.

If ever there was a time to congratulate me (as if always doing it wasn't enough), it's now. Thanks.

I saw Santorum. It was a nice event but I wasn't there long.

The real highlight of the day was going to the Senate. I've only observed from the gallery once before. This time was more exciting. Shaheen was presiding while Harkin went on about food safety. Reid, Boxer, Bingaman, Franken and Isakson were walking around while Harkin was speaking. We left when it seemed like he would just go on forever, only to realize a roll call vote started right after we left. We went back and saw most of the Senators.

Tester is...well...a lot like people imagine. John Thune is insanely tall. Roland Burris seemed like the most popular guy (or maybe they're just really happy to see him gone). He constantly had people around him as he showed them some newspaper. I could hear McCaskill ask him, "Oh, is that your Grandson?" pointing to the paper. I didn't see Specter on the floor though. Franken was presiding but nothing interesting.  Tongue

The strangest moment was when Gillibrand walked onto the floor. She had a shopping bag with her. She pulled out a gift for Lieberman and he unwrapped it on the floor. It was a framed picture. If that wasn't weird enough to do on the floor of the U.S. Senate, she then distributed Birthday invitations (or at least that's what she said they were to Inouye).

What was the roll call vote on, you ask?

The Resolution to Congratulate Keystone Phil on the Victories in Pennsylvania

The final vote was 99-0
The last time I was there,

It's easy.  All you have to do is post a comment yourself in the thread from time to time, pushing it up to the top again..........and again..........and again..........
