You should have seen how many I originally proposed to Sam!

Still, this is much more workable than one giant thread for every election.

I'm locking the threads until elections start and will be creating a big pre-election thread soon.

We need an overview thread, at least for the House.  Why?  Because I'm working on an overall dashboard.

there are WAY TOO MANY Senate result threads, we need an alternative overall thread for the Senate....for those of us who don't want to weave an election night over mitt.

If you have complaints - please post them here.   Smiley  We're listening, though there's nothing that says we're going to change things...  Tongue

I think this setup is a good one. Over at International, we can get away with a single results thread for national elections in large countries, but even big events only attract a fraction of what we'll see here on tomorrow night. Things would get far too confusing.

I would agree with this in theory, but I think everybody would end up posting in that thread while the others get little attention.

When the first state in the list closes.  Will list times and post links to results in first post later this evening.

Then make the other threads for Senate, Gubernatorial and local races.  The results of one House race doesn't affect much, and is pretty meaningless on its own.  We really need an overall picture of the House.

I personally think there should be slightly less results threads; maybe about five or so (North East, Mid West, South, West, and whatever the regional name for the states in the middle is).

This may or may not be a suitable thread to note this, but the Democrats are down into the 30's on control of the Senate on Intrade.

Well I'm going to be out canvassing until 11 ET. My brain is probably going to explode when I get home and look at the online stats.

I agree. I don't want to have to jump between eighteen different threads. I think they could easily be collapsed into 5 or so regional threads, especially since there probably won't be that much activity in a lot of states (much of the Midwest, for example).

There is at least one competitive race (house, guv, or senate) in almost all states (with the exception of the middle and lower plains).

Sam-

Just for clarification, does this thread cover any and all "chatter" that takes place before 6pm on Tuesday?  Specifically, I've sometimes done a "turnout reports, voting problems, and last minute dirty tricks" thread, like this one:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=69787.0

I'd planned on doing that again for this election, but if that sort of thing is meant to be included in this thread, that's fine.  I guess the question is, when you say "pre-election", do you mean that to include stuff happening *during* the election Tuesday during the day?

Also, after 5pm Eastern tomorrow, we'll start to get news stories from the media on the exit polls, along the lines of "48% of people nationwide who think the economy is getting worse and have blue hair voted for so-and-so", not really specific to any particular race, just national exit poll stuff.  Plus there may be exit poll leaks at sites like Drudge.  Should all of that be posted here, or should there be a separate thread for exit polls?

Is there a possibility of a pundit-embarrasment tomorrow?

Yes, that type of stuff should precisely be in this thread.
