GOP picks up 13 seats in the TN State house.  Rural democrats almost completely wiped out.  That's the good news.

The bad news is that urban Republicans (candidates like Shelton, Cook, and Dominy in Shelby and Davidson counties) didn't make any pick-ups, meaning that the state's most populous counties have cast their lots with the losing team.

He is doing horribly in Denver, Boulder, Araphoe and Jefferson so it will be interesting to see what happens when they are all in.

Quinn will almost certain win at this point.  He's up by 9,000 votes and all that is left is bits of Cook county.

How's the prop. in California doing that's supposed to repeal their Global Warming law?

Down in flames, and the simple majority Prop. passed, but Californians voted crappy on the other ones. Well, I guess since Democrats are stupid, they threw away their ability to gerrymander in California. Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, Texas, and so on can all have mass Republican gerrymanders again. Yeah, that's really fair.

And in Illinois, the Combine wins once again.  Things are as they always are.  Heck, even the GOP took back the suburbs. lol...

That Republican in NY-AD-01 who was up by 1 vote with all but one precinct in ended up up by 40 votes when all precincts were counted.  Undoubtedly, it will come down to absentees and there will be a recount.  There's still hope someone wins by one vote.

Dems will be back in Arkansas.  Be patient.  Just maybe not while Obama is at the top.

I note they weren't completely demolished in the AR-1 open seat, so, yeah. It's elsewhere that things have ended forever. Makes sense actually.

If Kitzhaber wins the remaining Multnomah votes by the same 70-28 margin and the remaining precincts have as many votes as the reporting ones, that would be a net gain of about 41,000 votes for him... enough to put him over the top. We can sure hope.

Democrats were wiped out in NH, going from 14-10 to a 5-19 deficit in the Senate, and probably a veto proof margin in the house too. The GOP is already talking about repealing Gay Marriage.

I can understand why libertarians can vote for someone like Charlie Baker, but why any self-respecting libertarian would vote for the NH GOP without being very careful about the candidate under the current conditions is quite beyond me.

Florida passed a similar initiative, so Republicans disarmed themselves there.
Perhaps the people all across the country got sick enough will all those ridiculously gerrymandered districts.

Nate Silver projects an 1,5 point win for Kitzhaber.

lol, that's 79% of the seats. I don't believe that any single chamber in the country is currently as Republican as that (though there probably is now).

The Democrats' demise in Arkansas appears to be real. Republicans are leading in the three statewide offices they contested (Lt. Gov., SOS, and Land Commissioner), and the Republicans are winning 6 Dem Senate seats and 15 Dem House seats.

Dems there are exceptionally fortunate that the GOP didn't even bother to contest the rest.

I guess they thought the state Democratic party was still strong. Still, this seems highly unusual. How many other times throughout US history have uncontested candidates been probable underdogs to win had they faced major party opposition?

When has a governor as unpopular as Quinn ever won re-election?

Pretty funny that IL has a Republican congressional majority now. Unfortunately for them, they appear very likely to face Democratic control over redistricting. Now, maybe they wouldn't have won in the first place without Brady on the ballot, but still - redistricting is for a decade, Congress is for only 2 years.

Yes indeed he is. Behind in every primary poll....behind in every general election poll, and appears to have won both.

Happy to vote for him.

I voted against the Illinois proposition....I just hate the principle of recalls, but at least IL has made it quite difficult to actually do.

Illinois statewide offices were more interesting than usual....even though Lisa Madigan obviously got her landslide.....because Republicans picked up Treasurer and Comptroller. The latter means the political comeback of Judy Baar Topinka (who I couldn't resist voting for!).
