He has a reputation for being an always bridesmaid in Alaska elections, usually finishing with about 45% in every election and lose.  This time, however, with Murkowski and Miller splitting 45% would be a landslide victory.  He probably would be in the 30s and would take votes away from Murkowski more than Miller, but it would still have been close for him to win IMO.

Really dropped the ball like so many Mongiardos and Rossis do.
