Avatar of the center, basically - like what Crist tried to put himself out as being, but couldn't. You'd have to see his Issues page on his website to get the full idea.

The difference, of course, is that a governor doesn't have to swear allegiance to either party, so Cutler hasn't had to try to play both sides against each other like Crist has.

Well, Maine does its traditional last-minute independent surge. Hard to say whether Cutler actually has a shot, but probably not. It's just too late.
