If in 1944 Roosevelt lost to Thomas Dewey, how would Dewey have handled the final months of WWII? What about the Cold War?

I think it would be cool to have a timeline where a President follows Patton's advice and after World War II, America just plows on through and fights Russia. (don't take that idea)

I wonder if Dewey would have dropped the bomb on Japan or if the US would have gone through with an invasion.
