We've had a discussion on one world government, and the consensus was generally no, but what about a world-currency? Like the Euro, except taken anywhere on the planet.

If the whole world implemented it, it'd sure make everything easier, but still have different markets and stuff.

I'm in favour of an Australia-NZ-Pacific Islands currency groups; half the islands already accept aussie and kiwi dollars (Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Vanuatu, Tonga, etc)

No, not exactly.

But the dollar was a defacto world currency.  The interesting thing will be when it is replaced by the Euro, something that should be happening very soon.  One wonders if the Empire will do much damage while it collapses..

No, since it would put an end to monetary policies thus making it almost impossible to battle inflation.

Theoretically, great idea, though we're not quite there yet. But remember, I do support world govt in the long term.
