There is quite a bit of stuff on youtube for '60, '68, '72, '80 and obviously plenty for pretty much everything after that. I was even able to find some coverage of the '82 midterms.

I can't say I'm totally shocked by the lack of '64 stuff... but why nothing on '76? It was a very close election and it wasn't called until 3:30 AM the next day. It's also supposed to be the first election where they started coloring in the maps so people could easily tell which state had gone for who (although I think only NBC did it that night). I am outraged! Anyone here have any footage from it?

Yeah, I'm bored.

Same here. 64 especially, though it'd probably be depressing to watch.

However, Goldwater's acceptance speech is available in it's entirety, along with other clips of the 1964 RNC.

A few years back on You Tube there was a report about the 64 election the day before it. They already knew Johnson would win, and it was kind of depressing. As for 76, there is two 30 sec vid's on You Tube, it's a shame too, because i have always wanted to watch some footage from 76.

Hmm, so neither campaign expected Goldwater to win his own state?

I don't really get that, either.

For 1976, I read that Pennsylvania plus most of the South was called early for Carter (not too surprising).

I'm not to sure about what the map looked like at 9:00 EST, but it may have looked something like this:
