That was the election that I voted for some third party nutter, after deciding I could not vote for Clinton, after the FBI files were found on Craig Livingstone's desk. Do you remember that former bar bouncer, Grumps?

Though the implosion was hilarious, I don't like the end result (turning a competitive and exciting race into a bizarre yet incredibly boring one).

I remember the big ugly lug, Torie.  I remember all of the characters during that time.

Canada 2008 - was depressed for a week and hated my country to death (though loved my home province)
Quebec 2008 - election night was kinda interesting with the QS win and the hope that Charest would miss out on a majority narrowly, but it was boring as hell otherwise though the ADQ's implosion was amusing.
Ontario 2007 - frankly, not all that interesting in hindsight though fun to watch the total implosion of the right. Boring but provided amusement.
Brazil 1998, 2002, 2010 (at the presidential level) - boring as hell
Italy 2008 - depressed for quite some time
Italy regionals 2010 - to say the least, I didn't improve my already negative opinion of the place

any election in Austria usually bores me and I hate having to write on my blog about them.

2008 was indeed a terrible election with a horrific outcome. It was hard to accept that there were so many stupid people in America willing to doom this country by electing a fascist scumbag like Obama.

But things wouldn't have been much different if the outcome were reversed.

That's what made it truly depressing. And it's not like we had a Perot or Nader or anything like that in terms of 3rd party candidacies either.

2000, a so-so at best candidate vs a horrible candidate and the stupid Electoral College gave Bush the win.  Let's face it without the EC, all of the hanging chads in the world wouldn't have gotten Bush elected

Honorable mention 1912, 1924, 1876

What was wrong with 1924? The election offered two superb candidates who together took 70.65% of the vote.

No problem, welcome.  I actually thought the opposite was true by the way......Gore lost it...Bush didn't win it.  IMO

1997 UK election.  Major may have deserved to go, but not that badly.

The fact that George W. Bush and Al Gore were the only real candidates to choose from was what was "sick in the U.S. electoral system".
