Ohio does appear to be ground zero this year. The poll is here.  Someone needs to enter the poll into the data base. I don't want to screw it up.

Not so much Ohio, but the entire Midwest.

Well this poll is the final confirmation that Strickland has no shot. It's depressing that he would lose to Kasich, the ultimate horrible candidate for Ohio, by such a gigantic margin. It really shows off the vulnerability of incumbent Governors during this cycle.

Unless you're Jan Brewer and decide to use the "scapegoat the browns" card. Then regardless of your idiocy, ineffectiveness and lies, you will be re-elected because the issue will be about the browns. More governors will follow her lead after the election and the creepy thing is that these will be somewhat competent ones.

Ohio appears to be feeling it more than any other state, though. Another Quinnipiac poll taken not even three months ago showed Strickland leading by 5%.

I've given up on Ohio this year. It's pretty sad that they're going to elect a Fox News talking head governor.

At least Kasich wasn't Bush's trade representative to China!

Places that swing heavily to one party because of economic pain are usually prepared to swing the other (or an other) way if the new lot in charge are not felt to have helped them. That's a constant pretty much everywhere.

Basically the whole thing centers on the economy.

Amen! It's completely ridiculous the amount of Governor's who would be willing to give in to the people rather than continue unpopular liberal policies.

Well its not like Kasich is any different on the issue of trade, however.

He was Budget Committee Chair in the 90's under Gingrich. Of course attacking him on that might produce the Branstad effect, 90's nostalgia.

Jan Brewer was incompetent and will continue to be incompetent. End of story. Someone who dropped out from high school could come up with here policy on illegal immigration. She only signed the bill to give Arpaio cover and to win the election by being a brown hater.
