McDowell County, WV

I am here in one of the poorest counties in this Nation to declare the birth of a new political pressure group:

The Appalachian Co-operative Society

The ACS will lobby for better living conditions, healthcare and so on, and will defend the good name of Appalachia.

As an investor in Bartlett Bank, perhaps I should have you know that the bank is planning on relocating its MidEast regional headquarters from Urbana, Illinois.  It is quite likely to be located somewhere in West Virginia. At the moment, Charleston, Martinsburg, and Huntington are in consideration. If not them, then the HQ will go to either Winchester, Virginia; Frankfort, Kentucky, or Terre Haute, Indiana.

That's a good choice. I'm not so sure, however, that other members of the board see it that way. Martinsburg and Winchester are liked due to their proximity to DC, and Terre Haute is closest to Urbana.

Still, from what I've heard, Frankfort is no longer being considered.
