Violence was already on a slow uptick before we finished the combat withdrawal anyway. This was pretty much to be expected by everyone.

No, all their problems were caused by the United States, dead0man.  Please don't try to blame the Iranians or some-such.  A decade ago Iraqis were perfectly safe and had a good government - Saddam Hussein.  It was we who condemned them to this sad fate.

Yes because life under Saddam and Sons was freaking awesome if you were not in the Ba'ath Party. Roll Eyes

..and I wasn't blaming the Iranians (though I suppose I can see where you got that, so I want accuse you of strawmanning), I was blaming the asshats in Iraq that keep blowing sh**t up trying to bring about change they can believe in.  But I guess you may be right, a lot of that is sponsored by the Iranians no doubt.
