Kansas - Seriuosly is there anything memorable about Kansas?

Its plainness, and sunflowers.  It is the archetypal Great Plains state, more than, say, Oklahoma, or Nebraska.

Wyoming is also an incorrect answer; it has the smallest population, and let's not forget that it's last alphabetically, and that it starts with two improbable letters.

I second Delaware.

It depends entirely on where you live. I'd say North Dakota because it's the state that is the easiest to go your whole life without driving through and isn't considered a destination in itself.

Yes, North Dakota. It has nothing in it of any interest to my knowledge - nothing.

I probably wouldn't know Wyoming even existed had Cheney not been from there.

North Dakota does in fact have an interstate running through it.  In fact, it has two.  I don't know where you got that information.. but looking at a simple map of the interstates would have told you right away.  I-94 and I-29 run through the state.

As a child, I always forgot these states:

1.  Delaware
2.  Maryland
3.  New Jersey

Apparently I just didn't like that region of the country Wink

New Jersey could easily be split among New York and Pennsylvania and nobody would understand any difference, its residents most of all.

I'm of an increasing mindset that Maryland was gerrymandered at some point during the Lyndon Johnson administration, with a complex enough yet vague enough history invented for it so that we would think it was always there.

Things that North Dakota has that most states don't:

Okay.. so that's about it.  But while it may be forgettable to many, North Dakota is also under-appreciated.  And by God.. it's infinitely better than eastern Montana.

Er, Wyoming has the Grand Tetons. I once spent a week there with a girlfriend of mine at the time  for a week in a log cabin. It was heaven. Smiley  Ever been there?

Also the area around Sheridan (Alan Simpson's home town), is gorgeous, just gorgeous.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  Teddy Roosevelt liked North Dakota.  South Dakota has more stuff, though (Mt. Rushmore, Badlands, Corn Palace, Black Hills, Deadwood...)

I really laughed at reading there are no interstates in North Dakota. I mean, LOL.

I vote for Delaware despite it being home of the current VP.

I don't know that any single state is "forgettable," but there are areas of states -- or regions that span several states -- that could be considered entirely forgettable. Eastern Colorado is one of those areas that comes to mind. People think Western Kansas is bad, but Eastern Colorado is seriously desolate.

There are large swaths of Montana and Wyoming that are just mind-numbing to drive through, as well -- the same goes for New Mexico and Arizona. I can't say Kansas is forgettable for obvious reasons, but I'm certain that people who drive the full stretch of I-70 (and are otherwise unfamiliar with the state) find it as bland as I find the other states I mentioned. But even "boring" states are remembered for their boringness and cannot truly be considered forgettable.

According to the sporcle quiz in which you are supposed to name every state it is Missouri.  20.5% of quiz takers missed it and Minnesota.  Very slightly fewer missed Nebraska and Connecticut.  The most memorable happen to also be the largest; California, Texas, New York, and Florida.

Nebraska. Wyoming isn't forgettable because Cheney's from there. The Dakotas aren't forgettable because there are two of them.

Nebraska's not forgettable. It has the biggest city in the entire Republic of Lakota. I would have to say... Vermont, except for... Ben & Jerry's.

Uh really?  That's news to us and our neighbors, all of whom would definitely notice if part of Jersey was suddenly in their state.  Jersey is all the rage right now anyway.  It's probably the least forgettable state.

I spent some time in Kansas this summer and I was amazed at how hard every little town was promoting itself. Come see our "historic" school, church, or whatever. Every little county has a "museum."  Lots of places that have way more potential don't try nearly as hard.  Gotta love http://www.amazing100miles.com/ Kansas gets an A for effort.

Yeah, I don't want you, and please take that stupid Philadelphia with you, as well.
