Let's see if I can kick butt again. Made a strong showing last year, finishing third.

We should, I need to make up for the debacle known as my baseball team, aka the Crripples.

I'm in. However if there are more results like that Cowboys Raiders game I may be screwed.

I'll run it if nobody else does it. Now do I host it on yahoo or espn or what?

Anyway, I want to defend my title from last year when I won with Sidney Rice's TD catch on the last play of regulation.

We did Yahoo and I have always preferred Yahoo.  The league can be restarted but it was TN2024 who ran things last year and he had a 6 point per touchdown rule which I continue to not like.

I have sent a reminder.

Haven't gotten any response.  I'm willing to run the league if anyone's interested.

League created - Atlas Forum Football 2010

ID#: 522580
Password: daveleip

Notes

1) There will be a Live Standard Draft (as opposed to an auction draft, which is new this year - auction drafts are cool, but you need more prep time imo) which I tentatively scheduled for Saturday, September 4 at 3:00 PM EST.  Let me know if this works or if something else is better (weekday evenings for example) and I will try to accomodate.  FWIW, I would like the draft to be held, at earliest, after the 3rd preseason game (when starters get the most time - August 29) and preferably after the last preseason game (September 2)
2) For the most part, I just went with Yahoo defaults.  Here are the non-Yahoo settings and important details I went with:

League Settings
a) 10 teams (I am willing to switch to 12 if more people are interested)
b) Maximum trades for entire season - 10 (instead of unlimited - I have rarely, if ever seen this reached - just once again trying to prevent overkill)
c) Maximum player acquisitions per week - 10 (instead of unlimited - I'm not a big fan of overkill player switches, 10 per week should be enough to satiate even the most meticulous lineup changer)
d) Playoffs - Week 15 and 16 (4 teams) (I am willing to look at 6 team playoffs if we go to 12 teams, even though I still prefer 4 team).

Roster Positions
a) Instead of the 3rd WR position, I'm changing it to a utility-type position player (WR/RB/TE).  I just want to add some flexibility to your bench.
b) There will be 15 players total, so 15 draft rounds.

Stat Categories
a) QB: 4 pt TD, -2 pt INT, 25 yd per pt (The only change from Yahoo defaults is -2 pt INT instead of -1 pt INT.  As far as I'm concerned, if you're Jay Cutler in Mike Martz offense, you should not get the benefit because he doesn't want to run the ball and your INT numbers are higher.)
b) RB/WR/TE: 6 pt TD, -2 pt FUM, 10 yd per pt (No change)
c) 6 pts for kick/return TDs (If your position player is a monster return guy, yes you should get the benefit).
d) 2 pt conversions and 6 pts for offensive fumble recovery TDs are included.
e) Kickers: 1 pt for extra points, 3 pts for 39 yd or less FG, 4 pts for 49 yd or less FG, 5 pts for 50 yd or more FG. HOWEVER, -1 pt for missing extra points, -5 pts for missing 19 yd or less FG, -3 pts for missing 29 yd or less FG.  (This is a BIG! change - I don't like kickers generally, but as far as I'm concerned, if your kicker is missing under 29 yd FG or extra points, you deserve to get punished as much as making them.  And if he misses an under 19 yd FG, that's the opposite as making a 50 yd FG in my view)
f) Defense - stats are the same as usual

NOTE - THINGS I AM WILLING TO LOOK AT
- On Defense, I have not included kickoff and punt return touchdowns as 6 pts b/c to me these simply are defense-driven categories.  I will listen to arguments to the contrary, of course.
- I have included fractional points for yards.  I am an on-again, off-again person with regards to fractional points - sometimes I like them, sometimes no.  I will listen to arguments on this.

Just joined

The draft on Sat afternoon is not good for me, during the week or even on Sunday would be better.

I'm also asking that we consider pushing it back. I have work until 3, and I doubt my boss would let me take off to do a fantasy draft. Tongue

Well you don't tell your boss you're skiping out to do a mock draft. You lie. If you're going to have a job you need to know these things. Wink

Would a weekday evening be better generally?  I can do that - say 8 PM EST or 9 PM EST.

Up to 5 teams and bumping...

How would a draft on next Thursday evening at 8:30 PM EST work for people? (just throwing out times at this point).

Ok, we're still at only 5 teams, so I've taken the proactive step of PMing those involved last year, and naturally bumping this again.

Draft time has been changed to next Thursday at 8:30 PM EST

I won't be there. Will have to make sure I have a good draft order then. Smiley
