Buchanan claims that he was a greater spoiler than Nadar on a state by state basis.  Let's take a look at that claim.  The following question was posed:
If Nadar had not been on the ballot, how would you vote?
50% - Gore
30%- Bush
20%- stay home.

I've seen this poll cited a number of times and have frequently wondered about it. Who are these Nader>Bush>Gore voters? People who want to punish Democrats, or are there quite a few "consumer safety conservatives" or something?

A lot of Muslims counted I knew in 2000 had preferences of Nader > Bush > Gore.

People don't vote on ideology 100% of the time.
