No, he is not.  Ralph Nader is the reason your car has seatbelts.  Ralph Nader is the reason cement factories are required to have filters, or scrubbers, in the smokestacks of their furnaces.  Ralph Nader is the reason lobbying groups like Citizen Action, and research groups such as PIRG, exist.  Though you may take for granted the many many consumer-protective and safety-oriented legislative actions of the past forty years, it does not mean he is irrelevant.  Unappreciated by you?  yes.  Irrelevant?  Hell no.
