My top 25 albums yadda yadda. Hopelessly addicted to alt rock.
Year Zero? I would have probably replaced that with Pretty Hate Machine.
PHM has good tracks ('Head Like A Hole', 'Sin', 'Ringfinger') but there are a lot of tracks which are kind of bland ('Kinda I Want To' being a good example). I'm actually kind of surprised you said PHM and not Downward Spiral.
Downward Spiral is good, but PHM has always been my favorite. It has some of my favorite songs on it (Head Like A Hole, Down In It, Something I Can Never Have...).

VH1's new list of "The Top 100 (Musical) Artists of All Time"
http://stereogum.com/495331/vh1-100-greatest-artists-of-all-time/list/
Wow, that's a terrible list. Hall and Oates? Justin Timberlake??? Where the hell are Simon and Garfunkel?
At least they got the top two spots right, I guess.
EDIT: Well, that last bit isn't even true since Dylan was only #5 according to the television version of this list.

Boo. They can be overrated, but their new album is still pretty good. +The Rasmus have a few good songs. Everything else yes, is complete sh**t.

I didn't mind sections of Supermassive Black Holes, but apart from that, I really don't like Muse very much at all. Prefer Radiohead

Indeed, I can respect that then. I've never been much of a Radiohead fan. They have a handful of interesting songs but that's about it.

Huh, strange. I don't get how people end up having to like one or the other. Personally both bands are great, Muse is really maturing now and OK Computer will forever have a place in my heart.

My top 25 albums yadda yadda. Hopelessly addicted to alt rock.
Why Definitely Maybe?
It's edgy and sophisticated to prefer
In Utero
and
Definitely Maybe
to
Nevermind
and
(What's the Story) Morning Glory?
Tis my genuine opinion to be honest. Nevermind has some weak spots (I'm sick to death of Smells Like Teen Spirit, and I've never really gotten the point of Polly). Also, the best parts of Morning Glory are the title track and Champagne Supernova - the other songs are pretty standard Oasis fare.
In Utero is the better album compared to Nevermind, but Definitely Maybe is about at equal quality to (What's the Story) Morning Glory. Though I prefer Stop the Clocks, since it's a compilation of their best songs (Acquiesce and Slide Away:D). Though I was kind of pissed that they didn't think of including Let There Be Love or Let It Roll until the Japanese special edition came out.

Well....I guess. They tried to do something different, so I can respect them for that. But Go Let it Out is a good song.
Unpopular opinion:
"Half the World Away" is the best Oasis song.

I'm largely indifferent to Go Let It Out. The only real highlights on that album for me were F-ckin In The Bushes and Who Feels Love? The rest was dross.
Half The World Away is good, but my favourite Oasis song is Slide Away.

No. I was slightly disappointed that they only did one song off of that album when I saw them in '05. They are amazing live though.

Yeah, they played almost 30 songs. I mean, most of their songs are pretty short but it was still a lot. They did most of
Surfer Rosa
and
Doolittle
. I actually have a CD of the show. I would definitely try to catch them if they end up going out again.

I'm checking out the first track now. It sort of reminds me of
The Gift
by The Velvet Underground, what with the seven to eight minute length & the spoken word vocals laid over a dense thicket of instrumentation. Not bad, though not really my cup of tea either.

Quite terrible. Like if you took the worst traits of Morrissey, and threw in that guy from Dashboard, plus the light piano stylings of Billy Joel, and maybe Generation-X era Billy Idol.

BRTD, what's the next best Modest Mouse album after The Moon & Antarctica?
(This question is open to anyone, I just assumed BRTD would have an opinion
)
