Machine translate of this song from Russian language:
Quote
Peace!!  To your!!  Home!!
 Peace!!  To your!!  Home!!
 Peace!!  Peace!!  Peace!!  Peace!!
 Peace is an extremist word
When they bombard the yards of acquaintances,
The iron-feathered crows of discord woke up,
Meanly in the clouds drawing "Z" patterns.
We, the entire region, must say - "Shame on them!"
You are marauders, thieves and no longer heroes of Zorro,
Down with the glorification of murder and terror!
With them - a TV that feeds quarrels in people,
We have the right to exclude war from the horizon -
The bloody monster will not see more food.
"Go kill for peace - we love hardcore music!"
But killing a neighbor will not become the norm,
We are bringing the era of new ones - peace, happiness,
Erase the zigzag and the swastika like an eraser!
Let the tyrant not receive our participation,
Where the people against the people are directed by a senile!
They want to turn the concepts in the minds
To dehumanize us, they say, - "there is no other way, go kill!".
We disrupt two events, let three words rattle:
 "Peace to your home!"

"Peace to your home!"  - a message on my behalf,
 Written in elementary rhyme.
Hiding behind addresses, digits and numbers
Home is for everyone sincere, clean,
Perhaps the most important thing in life -
We return home.  Our loved ones are there
They want our care and protection.
If you attack the house - we will be quits,
But I will never go to war with a neighbor,
Even if grandfather had a wild dream somewhere.
My respect to anyone who protects the house
I will not send my son not a dishonorable war,
Better with fan I'll beer booze.
Who brought our precious home to such a state,
in which the word "peace" sounds like "thunder"?
They called the bad good, and we believe
They pressed the button and rockets flew at people,
They said to die - everyone nodded, went berserk.
On the screen - applause in immature approval,
They'll show us where the attack was coming from
And everyone will be given a term because of doubts.
In a time where wishing for peace is courage
Let them be afraid, because we will do it.

And sometimes it seems to me that I'm in a nightmare all year.
People sculpt with a serious face the justification for war.
Can't believe the people are so fooled
And there is no worse phrase than "Not everything is so simple."
Everything is clear, brother - you can not attack!
If you don't understand, you have a flaw in your soul,
(Who?) Who believes in propaganda - just stupid or drunk,
They want a Planet of the Apes ending.
I will believe that the fog will dissipate again,
People - evil with good will be diluted at the poles.
Let our message break to someone, -
We are returning the norm "Peace to your home!"

The LORD giveth (Sufjan Stevens’s new album is back to his singer-songwriter roots) and the LORD taketh away (Janelle Monae isn’t making music about robots anymore).

Continuing to fall down the Janis Ian rabbit hole -- but haven't yet found myself enjoying anything after 1971's Present Company.

LP has a new album, and it is as good as always. LP I first discovered on Orange is the New Black.

I was just reading about the new Sufjan Stevens album. Apparently he used a naked photo (with no nudity) of Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh from an older photoshoot in the album somehow. That photoshoot had previously gotten Singh into trouble with Mumbai police, who had charged him with obscenity. Extremely random but I thought I'd share.

Late to the punch on this band, they appear to have quite an underground following. I saw them on Friday night and just...wow. My mind was blown and is still in the process of being blown.

This came out in '98. Amazing how poignant it still is. One of the best tracks ever.

I've had this stuck in my head since hearing it for the first time yesterday. Quite catchy. I'm convinced this song is the reason he won so big in 72.

I've recently gotten into the internet sub-genre of lostwave, music that has lost its identity and working to identify it. The holy grail of lostwave is "The Most Mysterious Song on Internet", a song recorded by a German teenager using his tape deck from a local radio station broadcast in [likely] 1984. I've had the song stuck in my head the past few days, so I thought I might as well share it here:

The funny thing about all the new Taylor lyrics people are making fun of is that they sound just like Lana lyrics. Taylor's influences have always been extremely obvious in her music. Haven't listened to the album yet but if it's just Taylor Swift doing a Lana impression the whole time I'll probably like it.

As it is written elsewhere on The Internet, where the beer is free and "DİKKAT: KÖPEK VAR" is a meaningless sentence:
Quote
Lana Del Rey has made her affinity for the book "Lolita" by Vladimir Nabokov pretty clear, mainly through the references to the book in her music. In the song "Off To The Races," she uses the book's opening lines, "Light of my life, fire of my loins." She also makes a more obvious reference to the book in her son [sic] "Lolita," repeatedly crooning, "Hey Lolita, hey."

If you're planning to give "Lolita" a read yourself, though, just keep in mind that it has some dark content. The book was first released in 1955 and tells the story of a man who develops an obsession with a 12-year-old girl. He then becomes her stepfather, before kidnapping and abusing her. Because of its sensitive content, "Lolita" had previously been banned around the world. In the 1950s and 1960s, France, England, Argentina, and New Zealand all stopped the book from being read or produced for a few years.

(British authorities allowed its publication after the Lady Chatterley's Lover case; it is today retailed by Penguin using the cover image shown in the linked article. Can't attest as to elsewhere, and have therefore left my copy up in Scotland while I'm on holiday. Can confirm that it is one of the greatest literary works of the 20th Century.)

If Taylor Swift is doing a Lana impression... no wonder she's calling it The Tortured Poets Department.

It is to a large extent for sure. Taylor definitely has her fair share of cringe lyrics, but she's no worse than any other pop artist. People are harsher on her because she's the most popular musician on the planet. Quite a few songs on the new album are genuinely gut-wrenching.
