On November 8th 1994, underdog challenger George W. Bush was elected Governor of the state of Texas.

A little less than 10 years later, on November 2nd 2004, George W. Bush won re-election as the 43rd President of the United States!

That's what you call having 10 good years.

I wonder what the world would be like today if Jeb had won in FL instead of George in TX...

Not too different. We'd right now be celebrating Jeb Bush's re-election, with his elder brother George congratulating him in from the Gubernatorial mansion in Texas.

Good for Bush, but on a larger scale this period also marks 10 years of GOP control of the House Smiley

Too bad Jeffords screwed up 10 years of GOP control of the Senate Sad

It will be more I don't see House or Senate control switching anytime soon (2012 at the earliest for the House).

If the Republicans don't produce, they'll be thrown out on their asses in 2008.

10 years is impressive, but nowhere near as good as the 40 years from 1954 to 1994 (actually 1955-1995) that the Democrats were in control of the House
