Blumenthal has been lying low, at least in the NYC TV market.  McMahon will have to spend about 4 times as much as she already has (She's spent $20,000,000, so $80,000,000) in order to make up the gap against Blumenthal's ad assault.

McMahon's ads have generally been good.  Her campaign staff seems top-notch.

Like we really need a senator who created simulated rape scenes in WWE. She would be an even greater embarrassment in the senate than Al Franken. 1) You remember the ad. 
2) McMahon used the same characters in another ad.  You pay more attention to the new ad because you remember the first ad.  Connecticut Muffy and Buffy gabbing in the car will probably be a running theme if McMahon survives the primary.
3) The ads have helped McMahon close the seemingly-insurmountable polling gap between her and Blumenthal.  She's down 10 instead of 20.
4) The ads worked.

Simmons fans: Abandon ye all hope ... this race is shaping up to be a replay of the California primaries.  Simmons is playing the part of Campbell, another sore loser.  If he can't beat McMahon in the primary, we don't want him facing Blumenthal in the general ...

The only thing Simmons is doing is locking it for McMahon.
