The Albuquerque Journal has called NM for Bush, about three hours ago, and so did Fox. CNN still hasn't...

...but when the hometown paper calls it, it's probably over. I guess there weren't enough undead votes to swing the state back! Wink + Tongue

You must have missed it when we established the undead vote Republican.

Only the full and truly dead vote Democrat.

Kerry hasn't led New Mexico since 2% precients reporting. They should have called it a long time ago...

Thank you.

I am going to get myself a nice steak for dinner tomorrow.  I am going to get one for Lucky too.  I think he earned it there.

Thank god. It feels like they are just trying to draw out calling these final two states. Now that at least some have called New Mexico maybe they will call Iowa before midnight. Just a wish. Bush has won in both states just call it for him.

286 EV, not much, but better than 271.  Bush turns two Gore states.  :-)

And as I have said elsewhere, I'm glad Bush took NM regardless of its impact on the Presidential race just because I wanted to deflate King Bill's ego and power somewhat. You got whipped by Domenici, Richardson! Hoo-Ya! Wink + Tongue

Wasn't Gary King for Congress in NM-2 supposed to help get Dem turnout for Kerry in Southern NM? That obviously backfired since Gary King lost in a landslide. Smiley

I actually thought the media held off calling NM (and IA) for Bush until Kerry conceded for reasons like (1) avoiding any chance of repeating the erroneous FL calls of 2000 (2) natural media dislike of Bush (doesn't work for FOX, of course), and (3) perhaps making real the anticipation that the election would be drawn out like 2000.

Now that Kerry has conceded, I'm baffled at the delay in calling Iowa (and New Mexico for those that hold out).  When Bush edged ahead in Iowa last night, it was clear that his lead would only continue to grow bit by bit.  Only Republican counties were left to report and he was already ahead.  Now with 100% of the states vote in, hey, it's over.  Provisional ballots will not overturn a 13,200 vote lead.

Just curious about the call on Iowa.  Hearing anything?  It was this spread last night practically.

Whoops! Smiley
And according to what I've read, the Reps did *VERY* well in the conservative east and south, especially with turnout.
