Looking at the swing (about 9%), itīs like 2004 - but not as bad as 2002.

"Heinrich certainly has an alternative view of the poll. His campaign released their own commissioned poll to Eyewitness News 4, conducted by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research from July 8-13. It shows Heinrich with a comfortable 12 point lead over Barela, 53% to 41%."

Survey USA turned out what appeared to be an outlier in the California races, so I am not too quick to trust them now. I do trust that they are closer to the real state of the race than the internal pollster, though.

Certainly not the most surprising poll numbers released recently.

The winner of this race will just ride the tide of whoever wins the Gubernatorial race.

The NM Republicans played it smart this cycle.  They support Arizona's immigration law, but at the same time, they're running Martinez for Gov, Sanchez for Lt Gov, and Barela for Congress as the Democrats run white people for 2 out of 3 said jobs.

They'll be able to play to the white vote without alienating the hispanics.
