As with all racism, it's disgusting, and it's good that she's gone.

Offensive nonsense to attribute 'racism' to one of the subject race.

Given the USDA's long history of racism, the only problem the USDA likely had with her decision was who she was racist against.

Offensive "progressive" nonsense to claim that only white males can be racist or that there is a "subject race".

Rush to judgment based on a carefully edited video, it looks like.

She cited this story from 24 years ago as something she learned from and repented for, and went on to become an advocate for underserved white farmers.

Even Erick Erickson of Red State regrets this.

Even the wife of the farmer she was supposedly "racist" to said that she helped them save their farm and that they are grateful to her. LOL at Republicans.

Disallowing aid based on race is very bad.

I am glad nobody is ever denied  benefits based on their race.

It would be truly a shame if admission to things like law school, medical school or access to bidding on federal contracts was ever done based on quotas of set-asides and not merit.

Fortunately, that never happens.

I almost thought it might be that, but I figured if it was out of context she wouldn't have resigned.

Because it's the White House. None of its decisions make sense.

Appearances. They were scared Glenn Beck would talk about it before she had resigned.

The White House claims Vilsack moved on this, not them. I don't know if it's true or not. Whether it was the White House or Ag, it was a mistake to respond to Fox/Tea Party mau mauing on a fake issue, assuming this is the fake it now appears to be.

Whoever did it was wrong.

Vilsack is in the cabinet, and thus IS the white house.

I'm really very glad that I dropped off the entire radar to work on a presentation today when this whole stupid Sherrod thing hit.  I was reading my phone on the subway home after it was all mostly over and saw the entire stupid controversy unfold backwards on the blogs I had preloaded.

Andrew Breitbart needs better sources

Hate to break it to you Lunar but apparently the NAACP had access to the entire length of the tape and didn't even bother to review it before reading Sherrod the riot act. The NAACP are the ones that dropped the ball.

Oh, there's no doubt that they were lazy and quick to jump the gun.  The NAACP (and the Obama Administration) deserve whatever flak they get over this.  That said, it's still Breitbart's fault for publicizing this story without checking for any context, or even what year the video was from.

Since when do politically motivated attacks check for context?  The perpetrators of the "progressive" attacks on George Bush sure didn't care.  Breitbart is trying to do to the "progressives" what the media has done to conservatives for decades - drive-by attacks lacking context.
