It seems that Nader isn't only American candidate. He has begun international campaign! He's trying to gather  assistance all around the world. Really weird!

Will you tolerate this?

Kerry could get a lot of donations from abroad, if he is allowed to tap into that.

That's probably a smart move by Nader. But. hopefully, he's dead anyway. *HOPING, HOPING*

I thought that it would be illegal to get foreign donations.

Sweden has very loose restrains on donations to political organizations. I don't know if we have any at all, actually.

Nader really needs to get a life!  And this is coming from someone who voted for him in the last election.

I've already my Nader2004 donation right here in the USA.  No need to go abroad to support Ralph.

I guess you would think so...I disagree, I think that records should be kept at the very least, donations shouldn't be anonymous, at least not from organizations.

I think it's hypocritical that many conservatives are now whole-heartedly supporting Nader's candidacy when in 2000 they said Nader didn't take away any votes from Gore.

It's obvious he did, I voted for Nader... if he wasn't on the ballot I would have definitely voted for Gore.  I think it's sleazy that the Republicans are trying to get Nader on the ballot to take away votes from Kerry.

It won't this time. I see him as doing best among northern republicans.

Since Nader will be in my neck of the woods I think I'll walk up to him, throw a pie in his face (increasingly popular protest) and tell him, "Pull out you fool! Before you cost the Democrates ANOTHER election!" Or something to that effect.

I'm surprised that there is no more angry Democrats screaming about Nader's international campaign in this thread!

There is huge amount of far left nuts in Europe who are ready to support Nader. This campaign will bear lot of donations for him!

Trondheim. You're German Green. Do you know something about this?

Before 2000 election the Finnish newspaper made poll about popularity of three major candidates. Nader got about 50 percent, Gore more than 40 and Bush less than 10. It was newspaper's "youth" edition, which explained Nader's popularity. In real election it would have been: Gore 70, Nader 15 and Bush 15.

I'd guess that the people giving Ralph "I eat strawberrys" Nader money in the U.K would be the usual suspects...

That's interesting.  Why do you think Nader will do best among Northern Republicans?

My theory would be because they are too liberal to vote for Bush but too proud to be republicans to jump ship entirely to Kerry so they'll go to a third party candidate.

I still say most of them would vote for Kerry if Nader was out of the race... or not vote at all.  My Mom is a Northeastern Republican who voted for Nader last time, if he wasn't on the ballot she likely would have voted for Gore.

Of course, none of this really matters anyways, because it's unlikely Bush will be competitive anywhere in the Northeast other than maybe New Hampshire and Pennsylvania.

These could both be crucial swing states though...

Dude, I just noticed this.  That's just about exactly what the percentages were in my city in 2000.  No kidding!

And what is your city? Livermore? Sounds "fairly" liberal. What kind of people live there?

No, that was in Somerville, MA in November, 2000.  Gore won something like 68 percent, and the remainder was divided pretty evenly between Nader and Bush.

Here, in Livermore it's more what you'd expect in this part of California, about a 58 percent voting for the Democrat, and most of the rest voting Republican.  Livermore is in the outer suburbs of the SF Bay Area.  Excellent schools & recycling programs.  My neighbors are from Korea, China, Mexico, Western Europe and the US.

Somerville is a total garbage dump.  Livermore is nice and clean and new.  I like both places very much.
