Every poll seems to show that Tim Cahill's campaign is really struggling. As someone currently not living in MA, I'm wondering why exactly he's struggling so much. I was planning on voting for him, but I don't want to throw my vote away.

I believe there was a wave of attack ads against him from the GOP. He's not really in contention anymore.

Yes - even as someone who doesn't get that much Massachusetts media (I live on the border near Providence) I heard a flurry of radio ads - also, on youtube, I frequently saw Cahill attack ads for the previews of videos.

I'm not too surprised - third party candidates always peak prematurely.

Deval? You realize Cahill is running to the right of Baker, right?

Tim Cahill? The Australian footballer of part-Samoan ancestry?

No the State Treasurer of Masschusetts. Not quite as a good as the Aussie is though.

Debatable. Having listened to the most recent debate, it appeared to me as though Cahill was taking a third way. Nonetheless, the debate convinced me to further support Patrick.

Cahill is a joke and won't win. I'd be extremely surprised if Patrick doesn't win in November.

His political corpse will be enough to drag Baker down as Deval hurdles over the top, however.

Hopefully his destruction will continue to be swift, forcing him to withdraw to save face, but he has pledged to remain "in it" to the end.

Cahill is very much trying to run to the right of Baker. He seems to be trying to fit in with the tea party crowd which Baker refused to attend.

Kind of like what the DCCC should have done to Michael Jackson in LA-06 in 2008.
