It is likely that Nader will make another run in 2012 as an Independent/Green.  Many liberals disenchanted with the Obama administration may be looking to the left for a new candidate and Nader would be a perfect choice.  Could these things combine to allow Nader to recreate or surpass his 2000 success?  How do you think Nader will do in 2012?

He'll run again. But I don't see him having as much of an impact as he did in 2000.

If the anti-Obama people want a serious third-party candidate, it won't be Nader.  No one takes him seriously anymore.  Not to mention he'll be 78.

If a serious third-party left challenger emerges, it'll be a fresh face.  If it's just Nader again, put him down for the <.5% of the vote he's gotten the last two times.

Not gonna happen. Both Kucinich and Grayson may be rogue lefties, but they won't jump off the Democratic ship. The wrath of this White House is particularly fierce.

I was thinking about this lately. That ego-filled douchebag running again might actually help Obama and the Democrats due to the fact that he's a washed up joke now and would prevent any serious candidate that would be a threat from being recognized.

He might run again, and get less than 1% of the vote.

It's time for a real 3rd party, not another one of Nader's pathetic runs.

Nader to me has become a long running political joke. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but Third Parties don't win elections, and independents win even less.

And Nader has a reputation it seems to only run to take votes from the Democrats.

If Nader is to be taken seriously, he should stop running for president. Run for a lower office, like Governor or maybe Congressman or Senator. He would have more impact there.

But Nader in 2012 might as well be the Silly Party from Monty Python.

Nadar might win dog-catcher...other than that no.

But I believe Independents have way better chances at winning, no real third party winners since the Reform party as there been?

Its hard to say. Nader has a lot of good views but he is like Buchanan in the sense that he was better off getting into congress. He keeps going for president and people want new candidates. He does however serve a nitch for a growing populist sentiment against wall street, the millitary industrial complex, and wall street and could appeal to a lot of Obama former base who are dissapointed in his corporatist economic policy and continuation of neoconservatism in the middle east.

Maybe he'll do well in Alaska, like in 2000 when so many voters flocked to him because they knew Gore didn't have a chance anyways.  And, because of the angry leftists.
