What would a Know Nothing America look like?

In other words, if Millard Fillmore somehow wins the presidency in 1856 and the Know Nothings somehow gain control of one or both of the Houses of Congress, what would the country be like circa 1860s?  Without a strong Republican Party would there still be the possibility of Civil War?

I actually think that with a Know Nothing government Civil War would've been just as likely, just with different factions.  I think that if the Know Nothing government was overtly aggressive in it's nativism one could imagine a massive revolt from the immigrant masses, especially in New York.  In fact, I could see anti-nativist forces capturing Albany, New York's capital, and in effect create a "Second America" by taking over the state of New York and areas of surrounding states.  Pretty much it would look like "Gangs of New York" times 100.

A ridiculous scenario but please entertain me.
