Concidering that just about every president has been compared to Hitler, and other prominate figures as well, there's no shock in seeing it happen to Obama.

I stopped at comparing Dubya to Mussolini -- for amorality, if not for effectiveness in establishing a dictatorship.

So how does Obama fall short of Hitler?

1. The Republican party thinks that it can defeat him electorally.

2. Opposition parties are not outlawed.

3. Political rivals have not been exiled or killed.

4. There is no youth movement dedicated to President Obama.

5. Nobody is being persecuted for ethnicity or religion.

6. Rule of law seems to be strengthening.

7. There are no secret prisons.

8. There are no book burnings.

9. Rash Limbaugh and Glenn Dreck are still on the air.

Yes, and mainstream politicians with a legitimate shot at their party's presidential nomination generally don't laud people for making said comparisons.  I can't recall Clinton, Obama, or Edwards pointing to an article that compares Bush to Hitler and saying that the guy is making sense.  If they had, it would have been a big story.  Likewise, I can't really see Pawlenty or Romney or Thune doing the same re: Obama.  The fact that Palin has done so is further evidence that she's politically tone deaf....or else that she just doesn't care.
