This is a huge swing from Rasmussen's previous poll as well as the recent PPP poll. Looks like bad news for Burr. What might have caused this?

Major primary bounce, plus the fact that he's never actually been safe.

It would be a bit of a surprise if the Dems actually gained this seat.

I'll wait for PPP's next poll.

Major primary bounce, plus the fact that he's never actually been safe.

Ehh, how many people in North Carolina even know there was a runoff last night...?

So is it safe to assume that there's a good chance no party will ever hold this seat for two terms?

The Patented Scott Rasmussen Post-Primary Bounce effect. It'll go back to a mid-to-high-single-digit Burr lead next month.

There is also an ad running sponsored by some third party group that says Burr took money from BP and that he voted to "Empower Big Oil and Iran" by voting for a bill which is listed in small writing. The bill they list is the "Murkowski Resolution" on the EPA's regulation of carbon.

WRAL News Poll has Burr ahead, don't have the actuall numbers yet though.

They did put on the air the numbers of something else.
