I thought the British government, business community and people were all supportive of BP, and feel the company has been unfairly maligned by Obama and the U.S. media (because pensioners own a lot of stock in the company). I think that's a b******t view, but thats what was reported a couple weeks ago on the evening news. They mentioned Boris Johnston specifically, among others. BP has more animal blood on its hands at the moment than Japanese whalers and Canadian seal clubbers combined.

I'm not defending BP at all, I just think the American jingoism and anglophobia is unneeded and unconstructive. I've said before, BP deserve to be expropriated.

Negative, though I don't think they are any worse than their competitors.

very negative. mistakes happen is fine by me. but you should allow people to help you when you make a mistake. and to fire people for wearing the proper gears is something else. That is just inexcusable to be that corrupt.

Anglophobia? It's just a populist reaction that would be directed at any company in this situation.

I agree. There is no anglophobia, there is no jingoism. I think the British might be feeling guilty because it was their company that killed thousands of beautiful and majestic sea creatures. But Americans are mad at the company, not the British people.
