This has become one of the most pathetic years in polling.  That's all I can say.  Things have just gotten goofy.  As we say here in Kentucky, "That dog just don't hunt".  The Gallup numbers just put an exclamation point on it.

The national Gallup poll of 49-47-1 is fine, but they sure picked a fine time use this new undecided method.  The state polls are just plain crap.  The only one I believe is Iowa.  It seems to fit with other polling in the last few days.  Other than that, forget it.

All I know is what my gut tells me.  George W. Bush is going to win.  Reports are that the Bushies are happy while the Kerry people aren't.  Tom Brokaw said that tonight.  The last batch of MD polls were good for Bush and both sides admitted Bush had the momentum going into the last weekend.

I'm sure Kerry supporter wil disagree with me and I'm sure they will.  I just hope we get a definitive winner Tuesday night and I hope it will be Bush.

Vorlon, what does your final map look like?

A comment:

The undecideds number is fine and I understand that they do it every election, so that's fair.

But I just get a little bit perturbed when news anchors don't separate it out, saying Bush leads Kerry 49 to 47 in this poll, with Nader getting 1 percent among likely voters.  Using Gallup's undecided prediction method, as always used before elections in Gallup's polls, the totals come to being Bush 49, Kerry 49, Nader 1, Other 1.  Among Registered Voters, Kerry leads 48 to 46.

As you notice, that's how I did it in my write-up and it makes sense then.

Don't call on The Vorlon for help.

The time of the First Ones is over.

This is the third age of polling.

The first was the Literary Digest and its methods.

The second was the Age of Gallup.

The third age calls for a bold new leading pollster.  It is time to:
