office?

I'm thinking Hoover (due to causing the Great Depression and making it much more severe) and maybe Nixon (due to Watergate) and Wilson (due to failing to make the U.S. join the League of Nations). Were there any other President(s) that were that unpopular worldwide when they left office, though?

Harry Truman and Lyndon Johnson weren't particularly popular when they left office; and for good reason.

Obama must have >70% approval in the UK, Canada, Germany, and France.

He must have >80% in China; they went insane when he went there.  The same goes for Japan.

Oh well any Republican is going to be hated throughout the world and any democrat today is going to be loved throughout the world. Everyone knows that.

Yes the more a country hates us you'll find the higher Obama's numbers are. For proof just look the numbers up. He views himself as a world citizen and not an American. By the way, there is no such thing as a world citizen. A citizen is a person of a particular town or community. The world is a planet. A planet and a particular town or community are far different. That's like saying global community which is another oxymoron. Those European socialists love him too. How popular is he in this country? I saw 42 and 48% this week.

Reagan is in a category of his own. Bush Sr. is another rare exception and I'm not sure we'll ever have anyone comparable to the way those 2 handled foreign matters.

Just, what is your answer to this question?

I don't think any were quite as unpopular as Bush.

Perhaps Nixon was comparable...Maybe Truman.  Probably not.

What do you want me to say about Ike and Ford? Ike like Reagan was well respected but they're in a category of their own. Ford wasn't conservative enough to be hated but more to the point he did bring us back from Vietnam.

I split off a lengthy discussion that had nothing to do with the topic of this thread.  You may find the split off posts in the topic I don't care if I'm unpopular over on the Individual Politics board.
