Hello fellow Northeast citizens.

I have decided to run for re-election as Senator for the Northeast regional seat. Let me start by saying, I have few illusions - the coming election will most likely be a crushing defeat for me. But, there is still some chance of winning if all those dedicated to fairness, to democracy, to egalitarianism and a stronger, more communal Atlasia vote for me. With the votes of all of the above, I could be re-elected to the largest region in Atlasia.

What we want is competitive elections in the Northeast and to keep this region as a forum for lively and constructive debate. What we do not want is a region where one party/ideology dominates the entire politics of the region, as, sadly, the Pacific and the Southeast have already become largely.

What will I do if elected? I will aim to create:

- Smaller class sizes and a more efficient education system
- Protection of equal pay etc. and gender/race equality.
- Further strengthening of the School Lunch Act
- A fair deal for workers and further encouragement for common ownership
- More focus on high-tech industry and cleaner energy
- Stronger communities through helping families
- A more progressive tax system
- A new house construction drive as well as other steps to increase home owner-occupier rates.
- Continuing stimulus to aid economic recovery
- Decreasing income disparity
- Recognising the social evil of unemployment, full employment must be a top priority for the coming Senate

The first steps have already been taken in some areas; the Capital Gains Tax Co-Operative Act for example. But further steps need to be taken.

Therefore, I am aiming to secure support from all parties to help achieve these goals if possible: JCP, DA, SDP, AASP, independents.... even RPP and POP members. Vote for me and you vote for a fairer and more equal future. Vote for me and let the Northeast win with Winston.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,
Winston Disraeli

I think I timed my move so that I would still be able to vote in NE elections until after June. So I think I'll be able to vote for you.

how do we know you will stay true to these goals? we had a problem with this. you were rather unpopular for changing views while in term.

Didn't you announce your retirement just a month ago or so?

Why, did you delete it?  I'm not going to waste my time looking for it.  It is duly noted on the Voter List that your move is valid June 10.  If you want to cancel the move, go ahead.

Rowan Brandon is correct.  A new registration post, registering in your current state, will have the effect of canceling any impending move.

IF you think that'd help you in the NE, please consider it so. Tongue

It sure looks like one to me.

Just a wild thought here. I know you've been hammered to no end for your ideological switch, but maybe it'd help if you explained in as much detail as you're willing how you came about going from hardcore libertarian to Labourite social democrat in the matter of several months? Heck, even if it doesn't change a single voter's mind it may be a helpful--even cathartic--exercise to articulate it in writing.

FWIW, I still see similarities in your underlying beliefs, "before" and "after".
