In my calculation, I ruled yougo's vote invalid. I think it's likely the Governor will rule that way as well.

Franzl projection: HappyWarrior, Ben Constine and Inks have been re-elected to the Mideast Assembly.

The last 2 seats remain open between Hawkeye, A-Bob and officepark. If A-Bob does not obtain the 4th seat, it is almost certain that Hawkeye and officepark will be elected, as A-Bob does not have enough total preferences to stand much chance of winning the 5th seat.

If A-Bob does get the 4th seat.....Hawkeye and officepark are in a very close race for the final seat.

His whole vote?  Preferences 3-5 seem pretty clear to me.

Funny distribution.

If A-Bob wins the 4th seat, officepark is likely to win the 5th seat.

If Hawkeye wins the 4th seat, officepark is almost certain to win the 5th seat.

If A-Bob and Hawkeye tie for the 4th seat, both are elected, and officepark loses.

In other words, officepark probably only loses if the other two tie for the 4th seat.....and if they don't tie, the one that does not win the 4th seat probably does not win at all.

Still too close to call, though.

Hmm...yeah, actually you're right. I'll change it to include those preferences.

Hawkeye has caught up for the 4th seat in addition to his total preferences. He could now possibly win the 5th seat if A-Bob were to win the 4th seat.

At present, Hawkeye and A-Bob are tied for the 4th seat, in which case total preferences would be irrelevant because all the seats would be filled. Officepark has no way of winning then.

If A-Bob wins the 4th seat....then Hawkeye and officepark are currently tied for the 5th seat.
If Hawkeye wins the 4th seat....then officepark will likely win, and A-Bob will be out.

So anyone who has not yet voted, think about the practical effect of how you cast your vote! In this crazy system, your vote might work differently than you expect Smiley

FWIW, I think our system is one of the fairer and easiest to calculate out there. It favors candidates with broader acceptability rather then narrow intense support. And it's phenomenally easy to count compared to IRV where one needs a booklet on voting procedure and a logarithmic calculator to determine. And don't even get me started on Condorcet voting.....

There's nothing fair about the way the last 2 seats are being determined here.

I didn't record any first preference....as the last two times he voted that way, and was decided in court after the last election.
