Not surprised, White picked the worst possible year to run for Governor. In any other given cycle, he could probably beat Perry with relative ease.

I beg to differ, he would have won had it been a split vote like it did in 2006, but barring that, this race leans Perry.

13% does not instantly equate to safe. This is Rick Perry we're talking about, quite possibly the biggest joke governor in the nation after Jim Gibbons, and he's facing possibly his most serious opponent yet. All White needs to do is campaign effectively and, climate or no, Perry will go down in the end. Remember, this year isn't just anti-Democrat - it's anti-incumbent, and Perry seems to be on a quest to become the country's most incumbent politician.
